The goal is to support the Treasury bond market and strengthen the liquidity of the financial system. The share of US debt held abroad has been declining for several years. Ten years ago, nearly half of US debt was held abroad, compared to only a third today. Hence the need to better mobilize the capital of American banks to finance the federal deficit. Nothing is reassuring in all this. I would like to remind you that low-risk assets do not exist, remember that subprime bullshit. I would also like to remind you that in the worst case scenario when a war breaks out, bonds are worthless, currencies vacillate, real estate can be destroyed or burned, only gold, a safe haven, and stocks, which represent a country's productive apparatus, are worth anything.
